September 25:
Larry Paulen and Devon Kirk played against Bruce Adams and Al Lichtsinn for the league championship. After 9 holes, both teams had 18 points. However, Larry and Devon got the additional 4 points for total score, barely besting Bruce and Al. Congratulations to Larry and Devon, our 2024 League Champions!
The rest of the field played a scramble. After considering handicaps and adjusting from par 35, Chad Baughman and Dylan Smith shot a 22 as did Matt Smith and Jenna Sallee. As usual, ties are broken by considering the total averages for each team with the win going to the lower average team, so Chad/Dylan won 1st place, and Matt/Jenna placed 2nd.
Johnnie Robinson Jr finished the season with the lowest average of our dues paying members, with a very respectable 39.10 average.
Michelle Wood is our most improved player, with her finishing average 4.03 strokes better than her average was after 5 rounds.
Season Outing - Noble Hawk
Noble Hawk Golf Link has been secured for our end-of-season outing. It will be held on Friday October 4th, with a tee time of 8:30am. Green fees including carts will cost $40/golfer. The league will pay for the meal and provide a stipend for drinks. As usual, after a short business meeting, prize funds will be distributed.
We'll play a scramble for the outing. The total number of players will be divided into 4 flights based on season averages. Each 4-person team will have 1 player from each flight. Team members will be randomly drawn from the appropriate flight. This should somewhat equalize the chances for each team playing in the scramble. The file showing the 8 scramble teams with combined averages is shown below.
October 4th:
After eating and distributing prize funds, we held a short business meeting. For 2025, it was decided that we would eliminate the rule regarding a maximum score of double par. It was also decided that any player within a sand bunker can remove the ball from the bunker, without penalty.
